Satoé | FAQ

You can book your online appointment on our website or through instagram.

We are also available on: 21 1630923, or you can email us on: info@satoe.pt

Welcome! During the first session we perform a comprehensive assessment. You’ll be filling a questionnaire so that we can find out more about your health status, past injuries and current complaints (if you have any). After that, we’ll jointly discuss the best options according to your goals.

  • Therapeutic and Pilates first sessions: Please bring all medical exams related to the reason that led you to book your appointment at Satoé (MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound, etc.).

Pilates classes: We encourage you to bring your own towel and bottle of water. In case you forget, no need to worry: we’ve got you covered. Grip socks are mandatory in all classes.

We recommend the following attire:

  • Initial assessment: Bring comfortable gym clothing. You may need to move and bend over during the assessment.
  • Women’s Health Consultations: Comfortable clothes that don’t restrict movement. It may be necessary to do an internal examination – in that case, you will have to remove your underwear; but we’ll use a towel to cover the pelvic area.

Clinical Pilates (Mat/Chair/Reformer): Bring gym clothing. Shoes are not allowed in class: non-slip socks are mandatory. Personal items such as shoes and outerwear should be kept in the lockers.

We speak Portuguese and English, we also have specific classes for English speakers.

Reformer and Chair classes require an initial assessment (one-on-one conversation + introduction to the reformer/chair). This is not mandatory for Mat classes; but we’d strongly advise you to book one anyway. We want everyone to feel safe and empowered!

Yes. At Satoé we offer classes of Clinical Pilates, taught by physiotherapist. Our small groups classes allow our specialists to program the exercises according to each person’s needs.

Most people can do Pilates, however, after your initial assessment our specialists may advise on  UNO (individual) to ensure we achieve your clinical goals safely.

No. However, some insurance companies may reimburse part of the value of your sessions if you present them a medical prescription.

We accept payments in cash or card. We currently do not accept foreign credit cards.

Any changes, cancellations, or no-shows for any reason and without a 24h notice will be charged 100% of the total fee. In the event of non-payment, all future appointments will be cancelled.

Our Front Desk is open every working day from 8am-5pm, if your appointment is on a Monday, we need advance notice of cancellation, by Friday at 5pm, or we will charge the full fee.

We understand that it can be frustrating when our customers miss; or need to change the time or date of their session; so we want our cancellation policy to be as clear as possible. When a treatment is cancelled or moved in less than 24h, it is very difficult for us to book any appointments in such short notice.

  • Therapies:

Please be punctual, this is a courtesy to yourself and your health practitioner.

We reserve the right to cancel the session in the event of delays exceeding 15 minutes, with the session being fully charged. In the event that the session proceeds, we inform you that we will not extend the time of the session.

  • Pilates:

Please be punctual, this is a courtesy to you, to your colleagues (in group classes), and to your physiotherapist. It is essential to perform a warm-up at the beginning of the class:, classes are designed to activate specific muscles gradually, and thus reduce the risk of injury.

Individual lessons: we reserve the right to cancel the session in case of delays exceeding 10 minutes, with the session being fully charged. In the event that the class continues, we inform you that we do not extend the session time.

Group classes: after 10 minutes of a late arrival at Satoé, it is not possible to participate in the class.
