Training designed for physiotherapists and final-year physiotherapy students.
Based on the principles of motor control, biomechanics, and functional re-education, this course explores the Reformer as a tool for both therapeutic intervention and performance enhancement.
About this course:
To equip physiotherapists with the knowledge and skills to apply the method safely, effectively, and with scientific grounding — integrating mindful movement into rehabilitation and functional training.
Our approach is to understand the body in motion — through courses that integrate theory, practice, and clinical reasoning, setting a new standard of excellence in physiotherapy and movement education.

Mitsuko is the founder of SatoéLAB and developed the exercises and handbook for the Pilates Reformer course, Level 1 and 2. She has over 10 years of practice in Pilates, and has tailored the repertoire to meet the clinical needs physiotherapists face daily.

Joana is a Pilates enthusiast and practices the method for over 7years, she has developed an interest in pre and post-natal care, and how to use the apparatus to help with this specific population.

Our courses are designed for qualified physiotherapists and final-year physiotherapy students who wish to deepen their clinical knowledge and practical skills in movement-based rehabilitation.
No prior experience is required. Each course begins with foundational concepts and progresses to advanced applications, ensuring all participants can follow the learning path confidently.
SatoéLab emphasises clinical application, supervised practice, and technical rigour. All students complete mandatory practical sessions and theoretical–practical assessments to ensure professional competence and confidence.
Courses are taught in Portuguese, but English materials or support may be available depending on the programme.
Assessment includes both theoretical and practical components, focusing on understanding, performance, and clinical reasoning.
Yes. Upon successful completion of the course and final assessment, participants receive an official SatoéLab Certificate of Completion, recognising both theoretical and practical achievement.
To ensure quality and close supervision, class sizes are limited to 8 people, allowing for an optimal instructor-to-student ratio.

Yes — observation hours are mandatory as part of your training, and they are completely free of charge.
However, you’ll need to schedule your observation sessions in advance to ensure availability and proper supervision.
Yes — students can book studio time for self-practice or to complete their teaching hours, depending on studio availability.
This time is rented to students, and pricing information will be provided soon.
Yes — students are welcome to attend group Reformer classes at SatoéLab.
Classes are limited to a maximum of 4 participants, ensuring close supervision and personalised feedback.
As a student, you benefit from a reduced rate of €22 per class (regular price: €28), and you do not need to complete the mandatory assessment required for new clients.
All participants are required to wear grip socks during practical sessions, as this is essential for safety and hygiene.
If you don’t have a pair, SatoéLab grip socks are available for purchase on site, ensuring you’re fully prepared for your training.
We recommend comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows for free movement and lets instructors observe alignment and posture.
Avoid loose or baggy clothes, and please remove jewellery during practical sessions.
All course materials and handouts are included and provided at the start of the course.
We recommend bringing a notebook or tablet for taking personal notes during theory and practical sessions.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to check in, get settled, and prepare for the session.
Late arrivals may not be admitted once the practical session has begun.
